Pfeifferhorn 2/29/08

The Pfeifferhorn is a perfectly shaped triangular peak located in the heart of the Wasatch. I Wanted to shoot the Pfeiff for a project and found a solid crew to go out there with me. Dylan Crossman, Shaun Moyes, Jeff campbell, and Nick bullard.
We started the day at 4:30 in the Whitepine parking lot up Little Cottonwood Canyon. On the trail by 5 we made our way through the dark until we were above the tree line and the first rays of the sun were warming our faces.

We stoped to take some photos on the false summit and then kept going to the head wall of the south face of the Pfeiff. The south face is 55 to 60 degrees all the way up. It is recomended to us an Ice ax, and I am glad I had mine because I was always in odd positions while shooting.

At the top we had some food. its amazing how good food tastes on a hike like that. Now down into the couloir. The snow had been blown off the top of the ridge so we rappeled down to the snow line. Most years you can just ski to the choke. Then down to the rappel at the choke. It is a 50 foot rap and has some new bolts put in. Here is shaun on the rap, and me on the apron.
